So, i was kicking round DA and i noticed this picture [link]
and it inspired a revelation... or something. But whatever, point is, people always say that the eyes are the windows to the soul, right?
And that's mostly true, a phenomenal amount is communicated through the eyes, but windows do not only let light out, but also back in. This is where teens are having a problem.
It seems that the vast majority of teens simply have not learned to open their eyes in a way that lets the world in, not just their feelings out.
They need to learn to see, not the parts of the world suit their mood, but what's really there in all of it's horrific gore and stunning beauty.
Now I have no disillusions, reading this will not have re-aligned your perceptions. But with any luck, next time you see one of the exceptions that prove the rule, a great teenage photographer (no, not like me... i mean a real one... one with skills n' stuff
) appreciate that artist for all that they're worth!
